Features

Aiming at the capture of high-speed events at very low light level, the IDT High Speed Cameras are offered in a custom body to integrate an optically coupled Gen III Image Intensifier with the imaging sensor. The cameras configured with the image intensifier unit and power supply are offered as two models: XS-4-i with a frame rate of 5 kfps at its native resolution of 512 x 512 pixels and the XS-5-i capable of 1 kfps at a resolution of 1280 x 1024 pixels. These X-Stream™ cameras retain the double-exposure mode capability to make the camera perfectly suited for Particle Image Velocimetry applications.

To freeze and synchronize with the motion of extremely fast events, or illumination sources, the intensifier power supply is gated via a TTL input. The gate input accommodates continuous operation of repetition rates up to 20 KHz and 5 KHz for the XS-4-Intensified and the XS-5-Intensified respectively. When the camera is used in the doubleexposure mode the gate can be provided as a double pulse with a minimum separation as small as 2 microseconds.
